Single-Item Furniture Moves in Southwest Florida

One piece needs to move between homes, into storage or to another room. You should not have to describe a whole-house move to explain it. Share the dimensions and the complete route so the estimate reflects this particular item.

Short answer

Moving one couch, dresser or cabinet can still require careful access and vehicle planning. Fix Move Haul reviews the item, its heaviest separate piece and the path at every stop. Request a ballpark for handling, customer-route driving and placement, with disassembly or extra stops included where needed.

How it works

1

Describe the separate pieces

Tell us the item count, dimensions, sectional pieces and heaviest-piece weight band. Unknown weights are eligible for manual review.

2

Trace the access path

Record stairs and flights at each location, elevator availability, long carries and tight turns. Include photographs where a doorway or landing may be restrictive.

3

Plan placement and transport

List disassembly, loading, unloading, assembly and final placement only where needed. We review vehicle capacity and company crew before confirming work.

Measure the whole access route

Record the clear width and height with the door open, plus hallways, turns and landings. Compare those measurements with each furniture piece and confirm which legs or parts can be removed.

Send photos of the tightest point and both locations' access. A diagonal measurement alone does not confirm a fit. The tape in this illustration is not a measurement reference.

Prepare the furniture and clear the route

Empty drawers and remove loose belongings. Confirm with the seller which parts come apart, and keep hardware in a labelled bag. Share condition photos before pickup.

Keep hallways, stairs and loading areas clear; reserve the elevator if needed. Confirm who provides blankets and protection. For a couch swap, specify where each couch will go and whether the old one is kept, delivered for reuse or disposed of.

Good to know

Worth knowing before you start

Short distance can still mean substantial handling

A same-address move has no transport mileage but still takes company labor. Add several tasks to one stop instead of inventing a drive.

Stairs change both time and crew review

The provisional estimate adds 15–20 minutes per flight at each stop. Bulky stairs default to at least two company crew, pending assessment.

A trailer is a capacity decision

Sectionals trigger capacity review; ordinary sofas can also exceed a pickup bed. No ordinary trailer charge has been assumed.

Do it yourself

You may not need to hire anyone for this

The parts you can genuinely handle on your own. We would rather tell you than sell you.

  • Measure the item and the narrowest obstruction along its route.
  • Empty drawers of loose contents and keep hardware together if disassembly has already been agreed.
  • Reserve an elevator or loading area where the building requires it.
What we help with

Where single-item moves comes in

  • Single furniture items between homes or storage.
  • Room-to-room positioning and agreed assembly tasks.
  • Photo and access review before final crew or equipment decisions.

How the job is estimated

Ordinary furniture is $65 per company crew member per hour for handling and customer-route driving, plus $2.25 per road mile once per vehicle. Dispatch and final return are excluded. Handling allowances, minimums and ordinary trailer charges remain subject to review. Every estimate is a ballpark range, not a booking.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you move furniture within one property?

Yes. Tell us where the item is and where it needs to go. Same-address work adds labor, not mileage.

Can I help to make it cheaper?

Describe the help available. It may affect a reviewed plan but does not automatically reduce the company crew or guarantee savings.

What if my item is over 150 pounds?

Tell us the item weighs over 150 pounds and send dimensions and photos. The heaviest separate piece and access determine the review.

Do you have a confirmed minimum?

Contact us for a reviewed quote. Any minimum or additional allowance will be confirmed with you before work is scheduled.

Need it fixed, moved, or hauled?

Call, text a photo, or send a quote request. Most jobs quoted same day.
