Mold, Mildew & Paver Coatings in Southwest Florida

The pool deck looks dark around the joints, the pavers between the lanai posts are green and the narrow edges are too tight for a normal brush. You want the mold and mildew gone without blasting water toward screens, doors or furniture, and you would like the clean surface protected when the work is done.

Two workers clean and seal interlocking pavers on a screened Southwest Florida pool deck
Short answer

Mold and mildew on interlocking pavers, pool decks and tight joints need more than a quick rinse: remove the growth, wash the adjacent surfaces, let everything dry, then apply the right exterior sealer for the material. We can clean the hard-to-reach spaces, power wash nearby areas and seal the finished surface so it stays easier to maintain.

How it works

1

Inspect the material and the access

We identify paver type, joint material, drainage, nearby screens and the areas that need low-pressure detail work. The right method depends on whether the surface is concrete, brick, coated or polymeric-jointed.

2

Treat and lift the growth

Mold and mildew are treated before washing so the cleaning reaches into joints and textured edges. We work in manageable sections and keep runoff away from doors, pool equipment and planted beds.

3

Power wash adjacent surfaces

The pool deck, coping edge, lanai perimeter and nearby walkway can be cleaned as part of the same visit. We adjust pressure and distance to avoid etching pavers or forcing water into screens and openings.

4

Dry, then seal

Sealing happens after the surface and joints are clean and dry. We apply the product appropriate for the material and explain when the area can take foot traffic, furniture and pool use again.

Good to know

Worth knowing before you start

Cleaning and sealing are separate steps

Sealer does not replace removal. Applying it over active growth or trapped moisture can lock in a problem and leave a patchy finish, so the surface must be clean and dry first.

Tight joints need controlled pressure

A narrow joint beside a screen frame or pool edge is not the place for maximum pressure. Careful distance, spray angle and runoff control protect the surface and the home around it.

Sealer choice depends on the paver

Natural stone, concrete pavers, brick and polymeric joints do not all take the same product. We confirm the material and desired finish before recommending a coating.

Humidity slows drying

Florida humidity, shade and afternoon rain can extend the dry time. We plan around weather and tell you when the deck can be used instead of promising a rushed same-day return to service.

Do it yourself

You may not need to hire anyone for this

The parts you can genuinely handle on your own. We would rather tell you than sell you.

  • Move furniture, toys and loose items off the deck before the visit
  • Keep doors and screens closed while adjacent surfaces are being washed
  • Photograph stains and joints before cleaning so you can compare the result
  • Avoid household bleach mixes and unknown sealers on pavers
  • Follow the sealer label for cure time before walking, furnishing or using the pool area

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you remove mold and mildew from interlocking pavers?

Yes. We treat and wash the growth from pavers and tight joints, clean adjacent hard surfaces, let the area dry and then apply a compatible sealer when the material is ready.

Will power washing damage a pool deck?

It can if the pressure, distance or spray angle is wrong. We adjust the method for the paver and protect screens, doors, drains, pool equipment and nearby finishes.

Do you seal after cleaning?

Yes, when sealing makes sense for the material and the surface is fully clean and dry. We explain the product, finish and cure time before applying it.

How long before we can use the deck?

Drying and cure time depend on the weather, shade, material and sealer. We give you the product-specific return-to-use window instead of treating every deck as the same.

Can you clean around a screened lanai and pool equipment?

Yes. Send photos of the access and the tight spaces. We plan the spray direction and runoff so cleaning reaches the joints without forcing water into screens, doors or equipment.
